August 02, 2015 to August 06, 2015 Launching of Internet Exchange Point in Monrovia, Liberia

African Union Commission (AUC) in collaboration with the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of Liberia officially launched Internet Exchange Point (IXP) in Monrovia, Liberia on 06 August 2015.

The Liberian Internet Exchange Point (LIXP) was realized following a series of workshops through the support of the African Internet Exchange System (AXIS) project.

The project has provided:
• Capacity building on Best Practice and benefits of establishing IXP
• Capacity building on Technical Aspects of setting up, operating and administering an IXP
• The necessary equipments and technical support to set up the IXP.

The launch was officiated by H.E Joseph N. Boakai Vice President of Liberia, H.E Frederick B. Norkeh, Post and Telecommunication Minister and Mr. Moctar Yedaly, Head of Information Society-African Union Commission and others. It was also attended by Senior Government officials and leaders of the industry.
