Addis Ababa, 01 February 2019 – The Chairperson of the African Union (AU) Commission Moussa Faki Mahamat, received the credentials of H.E. Mr. Paolo Borin, the new Ambassador of the Sovereign Order of Malta, at the AU Commission Headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
During their conversation, the two High officials highlighted the presence of the Sovereign Order of Malta in 146 countries worldwide including 45 African countries. They also highlighted the various charity actions of the Order of Malta in humanitarian, education and health, as well as in peace and stability, which all are issues at the heart of the continental Agenda.
It is hoped that the presence of Amb Robin as Permanent Representative to the AU, will contribute to further deepen the collaboration between the African Union and his country.
At the end of the meeting, H.E. Paolo Robin offered a Grand Master medal of the Order of Malta to the Chairperson of the Commission.
