Chairperson of the AU Commission H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf met with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, H.E. Filippo Grandi this morning . They exchanged views on the regional displacement context & reaffirmed the imperative for coherent & coordinated regional & international responses. The Chairperson welcomed UNHCR’s continued partnership with the AU. They both underscored the importance of development-driven, sustainable approaches that empower displaced populations & promote self-reliance, while calling on international partners & governments to enhance their support.
