H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, Chairperson of the AU Commission, met with H.E. Amb. Jonathan Pratt, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary @AsstSecStateAF, on the margins of the DRC–Rwanda Peace Agreement signing in Washington, DC.

They welcomed the peace accord and reaffirmed the importance of AU–US cooperation. The Chairperson conveyed the shared priorities of AU Member States, including equitable trade under AGOA & support for AU-led peace operations.

Amb. Pratt reiterated Africa’s strategic importance to the US and assured that these matters remain under active consideration by the administration.
