The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, today received H.E. Abdiwelli Ali, the AU Special Representative and Head of Mission to South Sudan.

The Chairperson congratulated H.E. Ali on his appointment and expressed confidence that his wealth of diplomatic and leadership experience will contribute significantly to advancing inclusive dialogue, reconciliation, and the full implementation of the Revitalized Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in South Sudan (R-ARCSS).

H.E. Abdiwelli Ali expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him and reaffirmed his commitment to work impartially and constructively with all South Sudanese stakeholders and partners in pursuit of lasting peace and stability in the Republic of South Sudan.
