ONLINE REGISTRATION FOR JOURNALISTS NOW OPEN

8th Mid-Year Coordination Meeting of the African Union, Regional Economic Communities and Regional Mechanisms

24-27 June 2026

Theme: “Assuring Sustainable Water Availability and Safe Sanitation Systems to Achieve the Goals of Agenda 2063.”

The Information and Communication Directorate (ICD) of the African Union Commission (AUC) hereby announces that the online registration for journalists interested to cover the 8th Mid-Year Coordination Meeting of the African Union, Regional Economic Communities and Regional Mechanisms scheduled to take place from 24-27 June 2026 in El Alamein, the Arab Republic of Egypt  has been launched on the AU website. 

 Journalists are advised to register through the following link8th Mid-Year Coordination Meeting (8MYCM) Media Accreditation Form | AU Accreditation The closing date for online media  registration is 10 June 2026.

 The meetings are scheduled to take place as follows:

The dates of the 8th Mid-Year Coordination Meeting and preceding Executive Council and PRC Sessions, shall be as follows:

  • 14 May-04 June 2026: Fifty Second (52nd) Ordinary Session of the Permanent Representatives’ Committee (PRC) from in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia;
  • 24-25 June 2026: Forty-Ninth (49th) Ordinary Session of the Executive Council, in El Alamein, Egypt;
  • 27th June 2026: Eighth (8th) Mid-Year Coordination Meeting of the African Union and the RECs in El Alamein, Egypt;

A media advisory note explaining the arrangements for media coverage of the 8th Mid-Year Coordination Meeting will be posted soon on the AU website.  

Journalists will be able to cover all the open sessions physically and/or through the dedicated virtual link, which will be provided in due course. A detailed agenda and program of the meetings will be made available soon.
