H.E. Amb. Amma Twum-Amoah
Amb. Amma Twum-Amoah (Ghana) was elected as Commissioner for Health, Humanitarian Affairs and Social Development (HHS) department. She is the former Ambassador of the Republic of Ghana to Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Somalia and South Sudan and the Permanent Representative to the African Union and United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA).
She previously served as the Director, Economic, Trade and Investment Bureau of Ghana’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, and in various positions at the Embassy of Ghana in Washington, D.C., U.S.A as the Minister Plenipotentiary and Special Government Projects, Acting Head of Mission, and Minister Plenipotentiary and Head of Chancery.
She has also held other positions as Director at the State Protocol Department in Ghana, Minister-Counsellor and Acting High Commissioner, Ghana High Commission, Canberra, Australia, Deputy Director, Policy Planning and Research Bureau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Counsellor and Head of Chancery, Ghana Permanent Mission to the United Nations, Geneva, Switzerland, among other senior positions.
She has a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Canberra, Canberra, Australia.
